Flagship Program II ~ A Deeper Exploration

May 31 - June 12, 2026

While maintaining a few classic elements of the original Flagship itinerary, the 2026 Anatomia Italiana Flagship Program II offers a deeper exploration into the Connection Between Art and Anatomy along the journey from Rome to Venice.

The itinerary includes never before offered experiences designed to foster a deeper appreciation for the intersection of art, science and culture in Italy, making this opportunity ideal for both first-time Anatomia Italiana voyagers, as well as Flagship alums!

Join us for an expertly curated, small-group journey - a culturally rich experience created for the intellectually curious traveler, and anyone eager to discover Italy through a fresh lens.

Connect Art and Anatomy by examining the amazing sculptures of the La Specola Anatomical Wax Museum, available for the first time in almost a decade due to renovations!

Journey to the archeological site of Ostia Antica, the ancient port city of Rome, with an amphitheater, frescos, and mosaics that rival the ruins of Pompeii!

Explore The Museum of the Mummies in Ferentillo, Umbria and the 500 year-old uncorrupt remains of Saint Catherine of Bologna to consider the human body in religious expression.

Embrace the solemnity of the Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padua, with the relics of Saint Anthony and the tombs of Falloppio, Wirsung and other prominent anatomists.

At the University of Padua, stroll the halls of Vesalius at the Palazzo del Bo and stand before Galileo's Podium in the very room he lectured to his students between 1592 and 1610.

Gaze upward inside the 1595 Anatomy Theatre of Padua where Falloppio and Harvey discovered secrets of the body, as well as the architecturally stunning 1637 Bologna Anatomical Theatre!

Examine the University of Bologna Anatomical Collection, one of the oldest in the world, with wax sculptures and natural specimens of normal and pathological anatomy.

Enjoy countryside wine tasting, an evening in an Umbrian village, the Renaissance masterpieces of Florence, and of course the fountains of Rome, the canals of Venice, and the world's greatest cuisine!

There is also plenty of free time for rest, relaxation, and personal exploration!

Be sure to contact us soon to reserve your spot as Anatomia Italiana  programs fill quickly as they are limited to only 20 participants.
