About

shapeimage_2Anatomia Italiana is founded by Kevin Petti, Ph.D., a dual U.S./Italian citizen. He is a college professor of over 25 years, a textbook coauthor, and president emeritus of the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS). He teaches courses in human anatomy and physiology, human dissection, kinesiology, and health education for San Diego Miramar College, and study abroad programs for San Diego State University.

Dr. Petti leads educationally orientated programs to Italy that focus on the genesis of anatomy as a science and its influence on the Renaissance masters. His visits are academically based, and participants range from anatomy professors pursuing continuing education, to study abroad programs for college students. Anatomia Italiana travel programs are also open to anyone wishing to explore the deeper layers of Italian culture, and an interest in Connecting Art and Anatomy.

Dr. Petti is invited to speak about his research and programming in Italy at international conferences as well as various universities throughout the U.S. He has also been invited by the Italian government to speak at their Cultural Institutes in Los Angeles and New York City, as well as the University of Palermo, Sicily.
